Date: December 21, 2003 10:20AM I have been waiting for a film like this for a long time. I had a rough idea what the film was about but i was more interested getting into a trance like state and having the film over power my senses. I did appreciate the directors view or the world and how technology is playing a big part in our lives. It will be interesting to see how much technology does play and if it gets to be too much of a part of our lives, will we then go back to a simpler life? Will we be attracted to a more natural way of living? I have often wondered that if technology becomes to much a part of our lives then we will never have to know how to even clean up a mess off the floor. But if technology fails and we rely so much on it then i believe this could then kill us. Watching the film was very refreshing. Just getting absorbed by images and sound and not having any celebrites, gossip concerning them to worry about. Although this film is a number of years old, it was at the time that technology was beginning to change our lives dramatically. The first PC came to Australia in 1981 and things certainly have changed since that happened. I realise every step you take forward you take half a step back but are we taking steps in the right direction? That i am not sure of......... Re: Koyaanisqatsi

Date: January 02, 2004 03:54PM Hi, You mentionned "being in a sort of trance". You should see what I looked like when I saw the film live in Montreal. Live means having the movie on the screen and Philip Glass playing the soundtrack live. My eyes came full of tears. I was so emotionnaly transpose in another world. Koya always been my number one movie since I saw it for the first time many many years ago. I hope you also enjoyed the entire suite. take care. |
