I was planning on getting to the video on time but it didnt seem to work out that way. I ended up walking through the theater halls 4 minutes late. All I could hear was a loud, but quiet sound. Turning the corner, I look up at the screen and see these huge mountains. Looking around the theater, it reminded me of the omni max downtown. As you watched the screen it seemed as though a plane or something took you on this crazy ride. It made me dizzy just looking at the screen. We flew over rivers, clouds, deserts, everything. It seemed never ending. At this point I wondered when there was going to be some kind of point. As movie moved from nature and wildlife it focused on something different.. cities, technology, and people. I remember seeing a city at night with all these city lights and only a motion of what seemed to be fast cars moving back and forth. What really popped out at me was when the music was so calm and the screen was focused on peoples faces. It really freaked me out because I was just waiting for something to pop out or some loud dramatic sound to suddenly fill the room. There were just so many thoughts and images going across the screen. It was so hard to focus on what I was thinking. At first I was like ooh pretty.. and then it showed all this destruction and it just felt wrong. You felt like Oh technology. Bad., but then there was the part where it just showed people. It made me think of the way we live. I was suddenly focused on how we look so much like those ant colonies you see at the zoo or something. Fast moving, and chaotic. By the end, my head felt like it was going to explode. I stayed for the first part of the director talk and it became clearer. I then understood his stance on how he wanted to music and all the back round stuff to be the main characters. Overall I thought it was entertaining. I now have experienced something that I probably would have never gotten a chance to come about until now. Exciting!
